Refund and Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how membership cancellations and refunds work for Afo News, published by Nagaland Me, Dimapur, Nagaland, India.
1. Voluntary contributions
Afo News membership is a voluntary contribution to support independent journalism. All our news content is free to read regardless of membership, so a membership payment is a contribution towards our work and the member benefits described on our site.
2. Cancelling your membership
You can cancel your membership at any time from your member dashboard at the My Account page. When you cancel, your membership will not renew at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to enjoy member benefits until the end of the period you have already paid for.
3. Refunds
Because membership is a voluntary contribution, payments are generally non refundable. However, we want every member to feel good about supporting us, so we will consider refund requests in good faith in the following cases:
- You were charged in error or charged twice for the same period.
- You were charged after you had already cancelled.
- A technical fault prevented you from receiving the member benefits.
If any of these apply, contact us within 7 days of the charge and we will review and, where appropriate, issue a refund to your original payment method.
4. How to request a refund
Email us at info@afonews.com from the email address linked to your membership, with the date and amount of the charge and a short description of the issue. We aim to respond within 3 working days.
5. How refunds are processed
Approved refunds are processed through Razorpay back to your original payment method. Depending on your bank, it may take 5 to 10 working days for the amount to appear.
6. Changes to membership pricing
If we change membership amounts in future, existing members will be notified in advance and the change will only apply to future renewals.
