Afo News is published by Nagaland Me, a registered digital media and technology company based in Dimapur, Nagaland, India (GST: 13DIHPA5679B1ZK). The organization was founded by Aloto Naga, a journalist and digital media entrepreneur who also runs Aloto Naga TV, a YouTube channel with over 500,000 subscribers.

What we believe
We believe the public deserves news that is accurate, independent, and free from commercial or political pressure. Every story published on Afo News goes through human editorial review before it goes live. We use technology to move fast and people to keep it honest.
We believe in transparency. When we make a mistake, we correct it openly and promptly. Our corrections policy is published on this site and we stand by it.
We believe local voices matter in global conversations. Northeast India is one of the most diverse and underreported regions in the world. Afo News exists partly to change that.
How we work
Our newsroom pairs modern publishing tools with rigorous editorial judgment. We use an AI-assisted workflow to accelerate research, drafting, and fact-gathering, but every piece of content is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human journalist before publication. We do not publish AI-generated content without human verification and editorial oversight.
We run a dedicated Fact Check desk. Claims we investigate are rated True, Partly True, Misleading, False, or Unverified, and every fact check publishes the original claim alongside our methodology and sources.
Independence
Afo News is independently owned and operated. We are not funded by any political party, government body, or ideological organization. Our revenue comes from advertising, sponsored content (clearly labelled), and reader support. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial decisions.
